What is lighting?

All videos have some sort of lighting, it can be natural lighting (from the sun) or artificially. First and foremost you need enough light to be able to shoot your scene and you need to be able to identify the lighting sources.

NOTE: You must only use one piece of light. Too much light will leave the picture uneven and unbalanced.

If the light bulb blows, remove plug from socket.

NEVER try to replace the bulb, the bulb will automatically smash inside, for your own safety.

When pulling the light out you work backwards, pull the plug, then socket to come off wall

Three Point Lighting

The three point lighting technique is a standard method used in visual media such as videos, etc. It is where there are three lights coming from different angles in order to create effect.

KEY LIGHT: This is the main light of the camera, lights the character.

FILL LIGHT: Opposite side of the key light. There t support or add effect

BACK LIGHT: Light from behind, to light the character up from behind or create a shadow, could be used to identify a villain.
